IRIDA LABS

IRIDA Labs S.A. is a leading technology provider of software IPs for Embedded Machine Vision using Visual Perception and Machine Learning. Our embedded vision technology is based on conventional computer vision and machine/deep learning methodologies, combined with advanced heterogeneous programming techniques in order to unleash visual perception in any system or device. The company possesses significant knowledge in analysis, modelling, design and development of high-fidelity reference systems, using state-of-the-art CPU, GPU, FPGA and DSP technologies in the context of heterogeneous computing.

Founded in late 2007, IRIDA Labs is a privately held company with headquarters in Patras, Greece and worldwide sales support, backed by VC and private investor. The engineering team is comprised of highly skilled personnel with MSc/PhD in Computer Vision and Machine Learning. Our product and technology portfolio include embedded vision software for high throughput applications such as object / pattern detection and recognition using Machine / Deep Learning, as well as 3D imaging and reconstruction, addressing Industry 4.0 and industrial automation applications, smart IoT devices and 3D printing.

  • EV-Lib (embedded vision library), is a complete library of integrated software with functions for detecting, recognizing and tracking objects such as a) people (indoor / outdoor people detection and tracking), b) vehicles (car detection) and c) detection of specific products or objects of interest (custom 2D / 3D object detection). EV-Lib library finds applications on IoT devices for smart cities, smart tracking, etc.
  • AEye4, a machine vision SW for applications in Industry 4.0. It incorporates deep learning technology to solve defect / anomaly detection problems and perform quality inspection in real time, using a limited number of images (<50) for training.

Τhe company has formed collaborations and partnerships with world leaders like Qualcomm, NXP, ARM, ARROW, Analog Devices, Arrow, Synopsys, Cadence, Xilinx and CEVA and has clients in the USA, China and Europe.

As part of the HybridR project, Irida Labs will lead and participate in activities related to the design and implementation of the optical metrology system, as well as the optical material monitoring treatment system. More specifically, it will specify, design and develop a stereoscopic vision system to create a 3D point cloud of the monitored objects, so that the system can represent objects with an accuracy of at least ~ 100μm. In addition, it will develop a methodology and corresponding software tools for monitoring the melt-pool area during machining, providing information on geometric characteristics (e.g. width, length and area of the melt-pool) as well as intensity characteristics such as the mean value and temperature fluctuation.
